Why "Dinosaurs, Aliens, Gods, and Men"?

So, why exactly is my blog subtitled "Exploring Science, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Dinosaurs, Aliens, Gods, and Men"? Well, generally, those are some of the things that have always fascinated me. Most of the books I read, whether fiction or non-fiction, are about those topics. But, specifically, the reason is those are the topics that apply to the novel I am currently writing. For now that's all I'm going to say about the novel.

The plan here is to write this blog with posts about news on paleontology, theological and mythological deities, aliens, ancient astronauts, cryptozoology, any science news that catches my fancy, book reviews, et cetera, and so forth.

Also, I'll post updates about my writing progress. And, when I get far enough along, I'll post chapters and short stories. Hopefully, people will read those posts and give me some feedback so that I'll know whether or not I'm on the right track.

At this point in time I'd like to mention some things that I won't be blogging about. I won't be blogging about what I ate for lunch. Nor will I be blogging about cute and/or annoying things my relatives or friends did today. I will not also be blogging about any antics that I am up to unless they directly pertain to the aforementioned topics of interest of this blog. No politics. No religion. That is, no religion in so much as I won't be preaching. My discussion of Gods will mostly be of the extinct variety. And always in the context of scholarly study, not proselytism. And no kittens. Absolutely no kittens.

I just find it annoying when I go to a blog that is supposed to be about a particular subject, but find that half the posts there are not on that topic. So I won't be doing that here. I promise.

So, thank you for reading my first post here, and I hope you are sufficiently intrigued to return for more. Bye for now!

  1. Jim, excited to see that you are writing again - it is almost like the old F3 days. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with in the days ahead. Best of luck, Chuck

  2. Thanks, Chuck. I miss F3. It would have been a great help to me now working on this novel.
